Gransby, CT is a town in Middlesex County, Connecticut. As of the 2010 census, the town had a population of 9,871. Gransby CT is located in the southeastern part of the state and is bordered by Haddam to the north, East Hampton to the east, Middletown to the west, and Portland to the south

Gransby is located around the intersection of Connecticut Route 87 and Long Lane. The town center has a small number of businesses, including the Gransby General Store, a post office, a pizza shop, an auto repair garage, and several other small businesses. There are also two homes adjacent to the center of town that is still part of Gransby.

Gransby has a school located about halfway between the center and the Portland border, with grades pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. There is also a senior housing complex next to the school with 21 units for people age 55 and over. The town’s historical past dates back to the 17th century.

Gransby is located in the southeast corner of Middlesex County, Connecticut. The town center is located at 4206’N 7253’W (42.099, -72.886), just south of Route 87 and Long Lane. This intersection represents the middle of town and is located about halfway between the Portland, Connecticut line and East Hampton center.

Gransby’s land area consists mainly of forest and open space. The forests in Gransby are a part of an ongoing effort to maintain forest cover and protect wildlife in the state. There are also some wetlands near the Middletown border. Gransby CT is governed by j a Board of Selectmen. There are three elected members, who serve staggered terms of two years. The Board of Selectmen appoints a Town Administrator who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the town. The Board of Selectmen also appoints members to other boards and committees, such as the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Education.
